Transmission repair and rebuilds in Denver.
Wizard Transmission has repaired and rebuilt automatic and manual transmissions in Denver since 1994, for foreign and domestic cars, trucks, SUVs, diesels and RVs. It starts with a free 27-point inspection and diagnostic scan, and rebuilds carry a 3-year, 36,000-mile nationwide warranty.

When should a transmission get looked at?
Modern transmissions are hundreds of electronic and hydraulic parts working together. These are the warning signs that one needs attention soon:
- Gears are hard to engage, or slip while in drive
- The engine races, grinds, shakes or makes noises it didn't before
- The clutch on a manual transmission isn't working right
- Reddish fluid is leaking under the vehicle
- You notice a sweet burning smell
- The Check Engine light is on
Overheating and loss of lubrication cause most transmission failures, so every repair here is aimed at keeping yours cool and properly lubricated.

Transmission repair questions.
Updated October 2026.
- How much does a transmission rebuild cost?
- It depends on the transmission, its version and what failed, which is why we don't quote over the phone. The free diagnostic finds the actual fault, then you get an accurate estimate before any work starts.
- Do you use new or used parts?
- Complete automatic rebuilds use original equipment manufacturer parts, with updated parts fitted where the design needs them. Manual rebuilds include synchronizer, small parts and bearing kits.
- Can you build a transmission for towing?
- Yes. For towing and high-performance vehicles, the transmission is rebuilt to a custom specification for the extra load, and an auxiliary cooler can be added to keep temperatures down.
Bring it in, or have it towed in.
Call ahead and we'll plan for your vehicle. The diagnostic is free, and nothing gets fixed until you say so.
